Tami Hartwig Named 2016 BCH Brown Award Winner

February 2, 2017

Tami Hartwig, Boone County Hospital (BCH) Human Resources, was recognized as the 2016 Brown Award Winner at the BCH Employee Recognition Party in January.

Weldon J. Brown established the Brown Award in honor of his parents, Eunice D. and Everett C. Brown, long-time residents of Boone. Each year, BCH employees nominate co-workers for the award that demonstrates outstanding service and exceptional accomplishments. The BCH Employee Rewards and Recognition Committee then selects one employee from all of the nominations to be recognized.

One of Tami’s co-workers nominated her for the award and wrote, “Tami goes above and beyond to organize fun activities for employee. She is a key person in organizing the Annual Employee Recognition Party and has been involved with it for 10+ years. She’s part of the Laughs and Blasts Committee and is willing to lead many of the events they offer throughout the year. In 2016, she was involved in the BCH Relay for Life Committee. Tami has been the lead on the Angel Tree in December and the gifts and food that are donated by the hospital and staff. She has done this for the last several years and coordinates it all—contacts the school, nursing homes and other organizations, makes sure everyone gets a gift, delivers the gifts, etc. Tami treats co-workers with respect and empathy. She has shown a strong commitment to BCH all of the years I have worked with her. She’s very proud of our hospital and shares this with the community.”
